Spatial Lipid Fluxes
The is an art for the 13C-SpaceM method publication selected for a cover of Nature Metabolism. It is a photo of a cross-stitch embroidery with a part of the imaging mass spectrometry heatmap used as a scheme. Loose threads outside of the hoop symbolize the metabolic fluxes studied in this project.

Woman & Man
This image shows localization of small molecules on two individuals, as mapped by 3D molecular cartography (see Projects), visualizing data from Bouslimani et al, 2015. Originally, his image was prepared for the ISMB'2013 art & science competition. Later on, it was updated overlaying cell images from a single-cell metabolomics study. The image was selected as an Image of the Year by Nature in 2015 and as a Biomedical Picture of the Day by MRC London Institute of Medical Sciences in 2018.

Starry Night of Cells
This image was prepared as a cover image for a PhD students symposium at EMBL. Alyona was a graduate student in our team at the time and she was inspired by microscopy images of single cells which we acquire for single-cell metabolomics.
